Booker and First Lady Mae Booker founded this non-denominational Christian church. They envisioned a place where people could find spiritual growth and community support. The Deliverance Center is located in the Hubbell Richard Historic district of Southwest Detroit. It has been serving the community for over two decades.
The Deliverance Center is more than just a Sunday service. It’s a place where lives are impacted throughout the week. Sunday services start at 10 a.m., with prayer at 9:45 a.m. For those seeking deeper understanding, Bible study is offered on Tuesdays at 12 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The Wednesday session includes classes for both youth and adults. The Deliverance Center also extends its reach beyond its walls. Their annual Back To School Fiesta and Hallelujah Harvest Night are beloved community events. These events offer fun, fellowship, and vital support to the community. Though some events were temporarily suspended due to COVID concerns, the spirit of community remains strong.
The ministries at the Deliverance Center are diverse and cater to a wide range of needs. The Divine Purpose Praise Dancers express their faith through movement. The DC Praise and Worship Team and DC Youth Choir fill the church with music. The DC Youth Program engages young people with Bible classes, praise puppeteers, plays, and fun activities. The Community Outreach program continues its vital work. The Benevolence Committee provides support to those in need. The Deacon Board and Ushers/Greeters Board welcome everyone with open arms.
