In 1958 Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn gave it its name. This was just two years after the county acquired the land.
Before becoming the lively place it is today Del Aire Park was a blank canvas. Imagine the possibilities. Back then the Los Angeles Times even called it a top spot for pickup basketball games. That’s a testament to its enduring appeal.
Over the years Del Aire Park has seen many improvements. A new children’s play area was added. By 2012 a brand-new community center and gymnasium opened their doors. These upgrades reflect the community’s commitment to recreation and togetherness.
More than just a place to play Del Aire Park offers a wide range of activities. Baseball fields basketball courts tennis courts and even volleyball courts are available. There are picnic tables for family gatherings. Barbecue facilities encourage outdoor cooking. The park even hosts community events such as holiday celebrations.
From summer day camps to after-school programs Del Aire Park caters to various age groups. The programs cover a wide spectrum. The park’s hours are generous. It’s open from 630 am to 900 pm daily. Staff and program hours vary. Restrooms remain open from 700 am to 830 pm daily. Del Aire Park isn’t just a park. It’s a vibrant community center. It’s a place where memories are made. It’s a place that truly makes life better.
