Elevated by faith, Cypress Covenant Church stands as a testament to the power of community and divine guidance. In the year 2000, a bold decision was made. The congregation of Cypress Covenant Church, under a shared vision, sold their existing building and temporarily relocated to a school. Their goal was ambitious: to construct a new sanctuary across the street, a place where their growing community could thrive. This leap of faith marked the beginning of a remarkable chapter in the church’s history. Construction began in May 2000, fueled by a three-year capital stewardship campaign. Members poured their hearts and souls into the project, contributing their time and skills to bring the vision to life. Eleven months later, a magnificent structure emerged, a physical embodiment of their collective devotion. On Easter Sunday, 2001, Cypress Covenant Church held its first service in the new building, a moment of profound joy and gratitude. The official dedication followed in May, solidifying this pivotal year in the church’s timeline. Shortly after the move, Senior Pastor Pete Sanchez Jr. felt a divine call to embark on a new ministry. Though a difficult decision, the church supported his transition to become a director and teacher at the Integrity Worship Institute in mid-2002. Cypress Covenant Church then faced another significant transition. After much prayer and reflection, Dennis Jamison, a founding trustee and elder, answered the call to leadership. Leaving behind his secular career, he stepped into the role of senior pastor, a testament to his faith and commitment. Under Jamison’s guidance, Cypress Covenant Church experienced a period of growth and spiritual deepening. His encouraging sermons and strong pastoral presence resonated with the congregation, fostering a close-knit community where he was not only a pastor but also a friend.
