Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas opened in Henderson after some construction delays. The park’s partner and general manager, Shane Huish, also runs the Cowabunga Bay Water Park in Utah. The success of the Utah park led to the expansion to Las Vegas. Henderson was chosen because the city was very proactive in pursuing the project.

The park’s design emphasizes better traffic flow and guest experience. The theme is similar to the Utah park. Bright colors surfboards and beach elements create a whimsical and fun atmosphere at Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas.

Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas boasts more than 25 water slides. A lazy river and a wave pool add to the fun. The park covers 23 acres. It offers a variety of slides from Polin Waterparks. These include the Space Shuttle Space Bowl Surf Safari and Black Hole. There is also a Rocket Slide and a six-lane mat racer.

The Wild Surf raft ride drops riders 60 feet before landing on a manmade wave. Beach Blanket Banzai features twists turns and S-curves dropping into a wave pool.

Other attractions include Rock-A-Hoola. It is a 300-foot slide. Point Panic is a pitch-black water slide. Surfin’ USA is a six-person racing slide. The park also features the largest lazy river in Nevada. There are nine water slides four surf and swim pools and an interactive kids’ play area with smaller slides and tipping buckets.

Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas faced construction challenges but overcame them. The original design didn’t work. So it was completely redesigned to improve guest experience. Finding new investors was also a challenge. But things worked out in the end.

The park had an awesome first season. Guests loved the family-friendly theme. Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas offers a different experience than other parks. Its prices reflect this unique experience.
