Wasn’t Corona Plaza once just a busy road? Now it’s a vibrant heart beating in the center of Corona Queens. This wasn’t always the case. People loved this new gathering place. This success led to a major upgrade. In 2017 capital construction began. The Department of Design and Construction worked on it. They built it using stone and concrete. A new performance space was added. New plantings brightened the area. Pedestrian lighting improved safety. A drinking fountain appeared. So did bike racks and movable furniture. The Queens Economic Development Corporation manages Corona Plaza. They provide daily cleaning and horticultural care.
