This bustling place. This is Corcoran Commons. Known to many as ‘Lower’ it’s a vital part of Boston College life. More than just a dining hall it’s a social hub.

Corcoran Commons isn’t just any dining hall. It’s a significant part of Boston College’s lower campus. Many sophomores juniors and seniors with meal plans use it. It’s renowned for being superior to other dining halls. That reputation is partly due to Addie’s.

Addie’s is a student-run section upstairs. They serve healthy food options. All this is covered by your regular meal plan. It’s a unique and popular addition. The Market at Corcoran Commons is another exciting feature. It’s a modern market offering fresh ingredients. Students can create dishes in their dorm rooms.

The market replaced On The Fly. It features a coffee and espresso bar. There’s also a deli prep fridges and even a pizza oven. There’s a to-go pizza window and a poke bar. Weekly recipe changes keep things fresh. It maximizes retail space while retaining seating. The design reflects a modern take on dining. It echoes BC’s traditional aesthetic.

To accommodate the new Market seating was reconfigured. Tables were added to the outside plaza. The total seating capacity is now 780. That’s only eight fewer seats than before. A high-top chair counter was also added. This added another dozen seats. The old upstairs market is now used for extra seating. Student groups can reserve it for meetings.

The Market is more visible and easily accessible. This addresses previous student concerns. Many students didn’t even know the old market existed upstairs. The expansion also reflects BC Dining’s focus on sustainability. Reusable metal straws and bamboo utensil sets are sold here.

The Market @ Corcoran accepts Flex Dollars and Dining Bucks. Residential Meal Plan funds aren’t accepted. The Market is open from 8 am to 10 pm. It even serves breakfast and coffee. This change means The Loft @ Addie’s no longer serves breakfast. They now focus on dinner and late-night options. The Market’s success speaks volumes about the dynamic spirit of Corcoran Commons. It’s much more than just a place to eat. It’s a vibrant community hub at the heart of Boston College.
