Wow. Look at Constellation Place. That gleaming skyscraper piercing the Los Angeles sky. It wasn’t always this impressive.

Constellation Place a 35-story giant in Century City started life quite differently. Originally conceived to house the mighty Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer MGM. The studio envisioned a lavish headquarters. A space reflecting its Hollywood legacy.

Imagine the opulence. Towering marble pillars imported from Italy. A grand spiral staircase lined with awards. Even outdoor decks for executives. This wasn’t just an office building it was a statement. A testament to MGM’s power. Celebrities could slip in and out via a private garage and dedicated elevator bank. There were even three screening rooms including a 100-seat theater.

But Hollywood is fickle. MGM’s financial troubles led to bankruptcy. The studio relocated to Beverly Hills in 2011. Constellation Place was left behind. The MGM logo vanished. MGM Drive became just another street. The lavish interiors were repurposed.

But the building found new tenants. Houlihan Lokey ICM Partners and International Lease Finance Corporation ILFC all set up shop. Constellation Place adapted. It became a hub for diverse businesses. It retained its modern elegance.

In 2012 a unique feature emerged. Constellation Place became the first high-rise in Los Angeles to use Bloom Energy Servers. These fuel cells generate electricity from natural gas. They supply around a third of the building’s power. A small step towards sustainability.

Today Constellation Place stands tall. A symbol of resilience and adaptation. A reminder that even in the ever-changing landscape of Los Angeles. some things endure. And what a view you have from up there.
