This historic church, the Community Fellowship Baptist Church in Houston, has a rich history that spans back to 1967. The church started out as Greater Northside Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, meeting in the annex of The Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. A dedicated team of eighty-four members, including adults and children, became charter members. They purchased the property at 2500 Campbell Street, where they worked hard, cleaning the sawdust floors and preparing for Sunday services. In 1991, the church welcomes new leadership under Rev. Reginald C. Rose. He established a prayer and Bible study group, launched a daycare center, and changed the church’s name to Community Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Houston in 2000. The church’s name change led them to receive 501C non-profit status. Sadly, in 2003, the church’s founder, Rev. R. Solomon Rose, passed away but left behind a legacy of vision and growth. The Community Fellowship Baptist Church continues to be a vibrant cornerstone in the community today, a testament to faith and resilience.
