Doesn’t the name Community Christian Alliance Church tell a story? This church began with a vision. Four Asian American families in Northridge California founded it. This was 42 years ago. They felt a calling to minister to Asian immigrants.

Community Christian Alliance Church started small. They held one service in English. Soon they added Mandarin and Cantonese services. Today the church remains unique. It is a tri-congregational church. They preach and worship in three languages.

About eight years ago the church started fundraising. They needed a new building because Community Christian Alliance Church was growing. Even with two English services on Sundays parking was difficult. People parked on the street.

In 2018 Community Christian Alliance Church bought new property. Pastor Erick Loh called it strategic for ministry. A loan from Orchard Alliance helped secure the building. The new building is larger. It seats 500 people. This is more than triple the old building’s capacity. The new building has enough parking for all three congregations. It is only 15 minutes from the old location. This made the move easier for current members. The new property is closer to the freeway. This gives better access to unreached Chinese neighborhoods. It opens a new mission field.

Community Christian Alliance Church ministers to Asian immigrants uniquely. Pastor Loh says people seek community. This can be hard to find. In Chinese families parents often speak their home language and some English. Children mainly speak English and some of the home language. Community Christian Alliance Church offers English Mandarin and Cantonese services. The church serves both parents and children. They can worship in their most comfortable language.

The English-speaking congregation has become more multiethnic. Community Christian’s goal is to reach all people for Christ. They serve those of Asian heritage in a special way.

Senior Pastor Erick Loh was born in Seattle. He has lived in Los Angeles most of his life. He graduated from UCLA with an engineering degree. He met his wife Amy there. They married in 2012 and moved to Kentucky. He attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned a Masters of Divinity in 2015. In 2016 he joined the staff at Community Christian Alliance Church. Before ministry he worked in IT and college campus ministry. He and Amy have two children Isaiah and Isabel.

Johnson Pang is the Executive Pastor of Discipleship. He grew up at Community Christian Alliance Church. God saved Johnson through the church’s ministry. He saw the Bible’s truths lived out in the church family. After UCLA he worked as an accountant. He then studied at The Master’s Seminary. He earned a Master of Divinity. He also has a ThM and a PhD.
