He later joined the Chierici Regolari di San Paolo. He took the name Luigi Maria. Fellow Barnabites and professor Antonio Sala assisted him.

After Father Villoresi died in 1883, Don Antonio De Ponti took over. He was one of the first students. In 1901, Archbishop Andrea Carlo Ferrari restructured it. It became part of the network of Archiepiscopal colleges. It was then named Collegio Villoresi San Giuseppe.

The Collegio Villoresi San Giuseppe moved from Carrobiolo. The current location opened in 1903. It stands on Viale Cesare Battisti. Entrances are on Via Volta and Via Monti e Tognetti. A new multi-functional area was inaugurated in 2003.
