A beacon of faith in the Cloverleaf community, that’s the Cloverleaf Baptist Church. Cloverleaf Baptist Church has a rich history, going back to 1956. It started when sixty-five individuals left another church, feeling a divine call to form their own. This new group, initially called Second Baptist Church of Cloverleaf, established their first modest wooden structure at the corner of Force Street and Nadolney. Their first pastor, Reverend Ed Anderson, led this congregation of young families eager to serve. The church quickly outgrew its initial space. Over the next two decades, they expanded, adding educational wings. In the late 1970s, a gymnasium and activity center were built, eventually transformed into the sanctuary you see today. The original sanctuary space became the fellowship hall, and the current sanctuary has undergone multiple renovations to reach its present form. Cloverleaf Baptist Church is deeply rooted in its Baptist affiliations. It supports the Southern Baptist Convention, the Union Baptist Association, and the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. They contribute to various missions, including the Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon offerings. The church has seen a succession of pastors guide its congregation over the years, from Reverend Ed Anderson in 1956 to Reverend Ken Durham, who took the helm in 2007. Cloverleaf Baptist Church stands as a testament to the faith and dedication of its members, a place where God’s love and grace are celebrated.
