Ever feel like escaping into a world of knowledge? Then step inside the Clifford Whitworth Library. This is the main library at the University of Salford. It is not just an academic library.

Did you know that the Clifford Whitworth Library offers a leisure reading collection? You can find fiction and non-fiction books here. This collection is on the ground floor. It is near the Enquiry Desk.

But there is more to the Clifford Whitworth Library. You can even ask the Library to purchase items for you. This includes books DVDs or CDs. Use their “You Want It We Get It” scheme. It helps expand the library’s collection.

Inside the Clifford Whitworth Library there is a range of different study spaces. They include classic tables chairs and computers. You can also book study rooms. These rooms help you focus. They give you space to practice for presentations. Students can meet here to complete group assignments. There are 17 study rooms in Clifford Whitworth Library.

The Clifford Whitworth Library isn’t the only library space. There is another library at MediaCityUK campus. The Library also runs study spaces and PC suites across campus. These include Allerton Learning Space BHive and Chapman Pop-Up Library.

Did you know your loans automatically renew every week? You can keep items for almost a full year. This is unless someone else requests them. The Library has an automatic renewal scheme.

Need to charge your phone? There is a charging point on the first floor of Clifford Whitworth Library. Ask at the Enquiry Desk for access.

It is not just about the books here. The Library is the perfect place to find something new to watch or listen to. As well as books journals and eResources you can also take out DVDs and CDs. The DVD and CD collections are based on the top floor of Clifford Whitworth Library.

The library team is keen to have fun. Their Instagram account is the place to be on a Friday. They post their weekly BookFaceFriday picture. The team take photos using books with faces on the front. They match it up with their own bodies in the background.

The returns machine is actually magic. It sorts your books. This machine sorts depending on their Dewey Decimal number. This makes it easier for staff to restock the shelves.

You can also catch up on the day’s headlines. Clifford Whitworth is the place to be. National and international newspapers are available everyday. These newspapers cannot be taken out of the Library.

All students needing access to the Clifford Whitworth Library after 5 PM and at weekends must show their ID card. Library staff and Security will validate ID cards. Walk-in access to study and PC spaces is available. You can also pre-book specific areas in the library.

The Clifford Whitworth Library also wants to build a collection. It should be inclusive of all members of their student community. Help them by suggesting a title.
