The Clear Mountain, nestled within the Moreton Bay region of Queensland, is a hidden gem of rural tranquility. It’s a place that time seems to forget, a reminder of a quieter, simpler era when life revolved around the land. Clear Mountain was once a bustling hub of agricultural activity. Farmers toiled in the alluvial flats, their focus on growing corn, vegetables, bananas, pineapples, and raising dairy cattle and pigs. The air was alive with the sounds of farm animals, the smell of fresh earth, and the laughter of children playing in the countryside. Two schools graced the area: the Branch Creek primary school, which opened in 1889, and the Clear Mountain Provisional School, which opened in 1903. Both schools played a vital role in the community, but sadly, they closed their doors in 1913 and 1947, respectively. This land was home to simple pleasures, a place where time moved at a slower pace.
