Citrus Hall

Opened in the fall of 2018, Citrus Hall at the University of La Verne is more than just a dorm. It’s a vibrant hub, a five-story testament to student life. Citrus Hall houses first and second-year students. It boasts co-ed floors with single-gender rooms and gender-neutral options. The building offers amenities like wireless internet, laundry rooms, and lounge spaces. There are study rooms, TVs with cable, and even ping pong and pool tables. Community kitchens and air conditioning add to the comfort. Resident assistants on each floor help residents and organize social events. Citrus Hall isn’t isolated. It’s part of a student village, designed to foster a strong sense of community. Before Citrus Hall, the university’s housing was scattered. This made it difficult for students to connect. The new dining hall, The Spot, attached to Citrus Hall, further strengthens this community. The Spot is named after the university mascot, Leo the Leopard. It’s much larger than the previous dining hall, offering diverse seating arrangements and a food court with multiple serving stations. A large salad bar provides fresh options. The kitchen at The Spot is designed to allow culinary creativity. This results in a wider variety of menu choices, including vegetarian and vegan options. Citrus Hall itself is thoughtfully designed. It has wide, window-lined corridors that connect three sections of the building, encouraging interaction. Each floor has group study rooms equipped with tables, chairs, whiteboards, and flat-screen TVs. This was a direct response to student requests for collaborative study spaces. Bathrooms are centrally located on each floor, including gender-neutral options. Three elevators make navigating the building a breeze. Citrus Hall represents the university’s commitment to its students. It’s a place where students can live, learn, and connect, fostering a vibrant campus community.
