Originally nestled within the vibrant heart of Los Angeles, the Church of God quickly outgrew its initial location. Driven by a burgeoning congregation and a fervent spirit, the church found a new home in April 2005. The current Church of God in Los Angeles stands as a testament to this growth, boasting a sanctuary with a total floor area of 941 square meters on a land area of 5,950 square meters. Within its walls, the main worship hall resonates with the voices of the faithful, while the fellowship hall provides a space for connection and community. Study rooms offer quiet corners for reflection and learning. A multi-purpose room hosts a variety of gatherings. A cafeteria provides sustenance for both body and soul. The Church of God in Los Angeles is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a cornerstone of the World Mission Society Church of God, playing a vital role in its global mission. The church’s history intertwines with the very beginnings of the Church of God’s overseas endeavors. The members of the Church of God in Los Angeles hold a deep sense of pride and responsibility, recognizing themselves as pioneers in spreading the gospel of the new covenant in North America. In 1999, members of the Los Angeles Church made a pilgrimage to the Church of God in Korea, marking a significant moment in the church’s history. This visit solidified the bonds between the two congregations and fostered a deeper understanding of their shared faith. The Overseas Visiting Group program further strengthened these ties. Members from Los Angeles traveled to Korea to immerse themselves in biblical teachings. This exchange of knowledge and experience led to rapid growth and the establishment of branches in Sunland, Orange County, Fresno, Portland, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Riverside, Bakersfield, and Torrance. The Church of God in Los Angeles extends its reach far beyond its physical walls, touching lives across California, Alaska, Japan, and Micronesia. Members actively engage in community service, embodying their commitment to serving as “salt and light.” From environmental cleanups to acts of neighborly love, the Church of God in Los Angeles strives to make a positive impact. The church has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award from the Obama administration.
