What if we could rewind time? What if we could go back to 1981, right here in Harris County? The Church of Christ – West End wouldn’t be standing here then. It was just an idea, a shared desire among a group of devoted Christians who saw a need for a spiritual home in this community. It wasn’t until January 9th, 1982, that their vision took a tangible form. That’s when the West Houston Church of Christ, as it was then known, held its very first service at Bear Creek Elementary School. Imagine the echoing halls of the school filled with hymns and prayers, a testament to their burgeoning faith. Fast forward to 1991, and the congregation had outgrown its temporary home. They found their first permanent location on West Road and Highway 6, a place that would serve them for many years. But the story of the Church of Christ – West End doesn’t end there. In June 2005, driven by the generosity of its members and their “Building Up, Reaching Out Campaign,” the church moved to its current location. They finally had a place to call their own, a beacon of faith built upon years of dedication and community spirit. And just a few years later, in March 2009, they celebrated becoming debt-free, a testament to their commitment and the power of collective faith.
