It was founded in 1995 by Apostle Reginald Lawrence Ph.D. and Dr. Brenda Lawrence. They are Senior Pastor and First Lady.
In 2003, Christ Deliverance Baptist Church moved. They relocated to Hawaiian Gardens. Two years later, in 2005, they bought their current property. This marked a significant step in their journey.

Apostle Reginald Lawrence has an interesting background. He was born in Birmingham Alabama. He moved to Los Angeles California in 1964.
Dr. Brenda Lawrence is equally accomplished. She was born in Shreveport Louisiana. She was raised in Los Angeles CA. She is co-founder and Assistant Pastor.
Together, Dr. Reginald and Dr. Brenda Lawrence built a ministry. It is a non-denominational multicultural Bible-based Spirit-filled ministry. It is based in Hawaiian Gardens CA.

Dr. Reginald Lawrence met Dr. Brenda in 1989. Soon after, he joined Bethel Church of God in Christ. He was baptized in 1990. He was filled with the Holy Spirit. He served there until he received his call. In February 1995, they started Church of Deliverance International.
Dr. Lawrence attended Bethany Bible College. He studied Evangelism. He received a Certificate of Achievement in Ministry Training. He graduated with a Diploma in Practical Theology and Advanced Theology.
Dr. Brenda Lawrence also attended Bethany Bible College. She earned a Certificate of Achievement in Ministry Training. She received a diploma in Practical and Advanced Theology.
Dr. Lawrence completed his studies at Next Dimension Bible College. He received multiple degrees. In August 2011, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Religious Studies. Dr. Lawrence is certified in marriage counseling.
Dr. Brenda Lawrence also furthered her education. She became an Adjunct Professor at Next Dimension University.
Dr. Lawrence is called to train others. He trains them in deliverance ministry. He wants believers to be free from Satan’s power.
Dr. Brenda serves as President of the Women’s Ministry. She ministers in shelters and missions. She developed prayer ministry workshops. She counsels members in marriage and family problems.
Dr. Brenda developed a ministry for women. It is called W. O. R. D. It empowers women. It builds their self-esteem. It shows them love and acceptance. It guides them to their potential through God’s word.
Together, Apostle Reginald and Dr. Brenda ministered in many cities. They traveled to South Korea, Egypt, and the Holy Land. Dr. Brenda is an author. Her book is titled “Don’t Pimp the Prophetic Gift”.
