Did you ever hear of a church that started in a living room? Christ-Citadel International Church, right here in Accra, has a fascinating story. It actually began in Asylum Down, another Accra suburb, in 1978. It was founded by Prophet Anthony Asirifi Appiah, under the original name, The Church of Rama International. Prophet Appiah was known for his powerful preaching, often accompanied by signs and wonders. The Christ-Citadel International Church’s mission from the very beginning has been to bring people to Christ. They strive to make them successful and relevant Christians. The church expanded internationally, establishing a presence in the UK, starting in London in 1996. In 1998, they began community transformation work in Nottingham’s Hyson Green area. This eventually led to a full branch of the Christ-Citadel International Church there. Today, this church has branches across the globe, from the United States and South Africa to Zimbabwe, Botswana, and many other countries. They even made their way to Los Angeles, starting in members’ living rooms before moving to locations in Pomona, Canoga Park, Malibu, and Coachella. Their presence here at Christ-Citadel International Church in Accra speaks to a legacy of faith and global impact, spreading from humble beginnings to a worldwide community.
