Was it truly divine intervention that led to the founding of Christ Apostolic Church? The story of this church is a testament to faith and perseverance. Let’s explore its journey.
Christ Apostolic Church in Boston is part of a larger network. This network began humbly as a house fellowship in 1976. The late Rev. Goke Oyedeji, PhD, started it in Brooklyn New York.
The church grew to become the headquarters of the First in the Americas DCC. This is within Christ Apostolic Church North America. The Christ Apostolic Church’s organizational structure is interesting. It has five levels of authority. Trustees are at the top. Assembly Pastors are at the bottom.
In North America there are 14 DCCs or Zones. Each is headed by a Superintendent. Numerous congregations exist in US and Canadian cities and states. They all fall under CAC North America.
The Christ Apostolic Church First In The Americas was founded by God himself. This was through Pastor Abraham Goke Oyedeji in 1976. The church started with a simple dream. It wanted to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ. Hard work and faith helped it thrive in Brooklyn for over 48 years.
From 1976 to 1978 the church first met at 216 Rockaway Avenue Brooklyn NY. There were only 7 to 12 members then. As the church grew God provided a small church at 2220 Dean Street Brooklyn NY. This was from 1978 to 1980.
By 1980 membership increased so they had to move again. This time the church moved to Convent Avenue and 14th Street in New York City. But the church did not stay long. A vision revealed that God would work miracles in Brooklyn. Irresistible events necessitated a quick departure from Manhattan.
In the summer of 1982 the church moved back to Brooklyn. They worshipped at 1005-07 Bedford Avenue until fall 1984. As membership continued to increase a bigger space was needed. So the church moved to 43 Green Avenue in Brooklyn. Eventually the church relocated to Restoration Plaza on Fulton Street.
While at Restoration Plaza on September 6 1986 Elder Abraham Goke Oyedeji was ordained. He became the Pastor of the church. On the same day three Elders and two Deaconesses were appointed. Rev JB Orogun President of the Mission from Nigeria did this.
Today Christ Apostolic Church continues to spread its message. It is located in Boston MA. It remains a close-knit community. The Christ Apostolic Church stands as a beacon of faith. Its history reflects dedication and divine guidance.
