The Chinesisches Teehaus sits at the center of this tranquil oasis, a two-story structure boasting an impressive 215.5 square meters of floor space. Imagine attending a traditional tea ceremony within its walls, the aroma of jasmine and green tea filling the air as steaming water is poured into delicate porcelain cups. This garden, with its zigzag bridges, tranquil ponds, and covered corridors, is a living embodiment of the Chinese principle of “closing and opening.” It invites you to wander, to observe, and to contemplate. The Chinesisches Teehaus often serves as a venue for cultural events, from Asian art exhibitions and concerts to lectures and, of course, those mesmerizing tea ceremonies. The construction of the Chinesisches Teehaus and the surrounding garden was a collaborative effort, involving over 30 skilled Chinese workers from Zhenjiang. The project was made possible by a generous donation from Georg Schmuck, whose legacy lives on in this beautiful space.
