The first church here in Pozzuolo Martesana, mentioned as early as the 13th century, was a humble affair. It served the community under the watchful eye of the Gorgonzola parish. Then, in 1572, a grand vision took hold. At the behest of Archbishop Carlo Borromeo, the church underwent its first transformation. It was rebuilt, a beacon of faith for the burgeoning parish. But time, as it always does, marched on. This Chiesa Parrocchiale della Natività di Maria Vergine witnessed centuries pass. Finally, in 1842, it was reborn again. This time, it emerged in the elegant embrace of neoclassical architecture, the style you see today”.
