The year is 1967. A wave of spiritual reflection washes over the Catholic world. It’s the 19th centenary of the martyrdom of Saints Peter and Paul. The “Year of Faith,” they call it. Here in Milan, on the outskirts of a burgeoning city, a new community is taking shape – the quartiere degli Olmi. And within this landscape of concrete and ambition, a different kind of construction begins – the Chiesa parrocchiale della Madonna della Fede. Cardinal Colombo, a man of deep faith, saw the need for a spiritual beacon in this new frontier. He decreed that a portion of the Sant’Apollinare di Baggio parish would be carved out to serve the growing population. The Chiesa parrocchiale della Madonna della Fede was born from this vision. By 1973, the engineer Attilio Mariani had brought the church to life. It stands today, a testament to faith in an age of modernity. Imagine its stark, sloping concrete roof contrasting against the rough, light-colored plaster of its walls. This juxtaposition mirrors the times – tradition meeting progress. Sunlight streams through windows lining the right flank, illuminating a space where faith seeks solace in a rapidly transforming world. The Chiesa parrocchiale della Madonna della Fede is more than just a building though. It’s a symbol of enduring belief, echoing through the decades and whispering tales of unwavering faith to those who choose to listen.
