“A house of prayer” someone once said while talking about the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario. Here before us stands the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario. It is a testament to faith and history in Palermo. Founded in 1899 in the village of Cruillas, the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario became an autonomous parish in 1937. This was thanks to Cardinal Luigi Lavitrano.

In 1900, something special happened here at the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario. A spiritual confraternity dedicated to Our Lady of Pompei was founded. Its purpose was to spread devotion. The cult of the Madonna quickly grew in the surrounding area and nearby towns. This made the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario a destination for many pilgrimages. Later, this congregation dissolved.

But the story of faith didn’t end there for the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario. In 1991, a group of faithful sought to revive the confraternity dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. Cardinal Salvatore Pappalardo approved their request. The brothers of the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario wear a distinctive habit. It is red bordered with blue. A metal plate on their chest shows the Virgin of Pompei.

Today, the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario continues to serve its community. The parish priest is Bordonaro Sac. Nicolò Michele. The church is located on Via Cruillas. Its telephone number is 091202615. Around 80 people can sit inside.

Masses are held regularly at the Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario.

The feast day of Maria SS. del Rosario is celebrated in October. The Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario stands as a symbol of devotion. It also represents the enduring spirit of its community. Take a moment to appreciate the history held within these walls. Think about the countless prayers that have echoed through this sacred space. The Chiesa Maria Santissima del Rosario is more than just a building. It is a living story of faith.
