Gazing upon the Changlingpi Great Bridge, it’s hard not to be impressed. This isn’t just a bridge. It’s a statement of ambition and engineering prowess. The Changlingpi Great Bridge is part of a larger project, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link. This marvel spans 15 miles and includes artificial islands and an undersea tunnel. The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link broke 10 world records. One record is the world’s longest two-way, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel. Another is the widest underwater steel shell-concrete immersed tube tunnel. The bridge also boasts the highest navigation clearance for a sea bridge. It’s the world’s first underwater expressway interchange and airport interchange. This significantly cuts travel time from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport to Zhongshan from two hours to a mere 30 minutes. The Changlingpi Great Bridge contributes to the grand vision of the Greater Bay Area. This project aims to unite 11 cities, including Shenzhen and Zhongshan, into a global economic powerhouse. The bridge dramatically reduces travel times, boosting connectivity and trade. It transforms the region, bringing these two cities closer than ever before.
