A vibrant community thrives here. This is Chabad of Dumbo. Nestled in the heart of Dumbo Brooklyn it’s more than just a synagogue. It’s a hub of activity for young professionals and families. Chabad of Dumbo wasn’t always home to its own Torah. For years it borrowed one for its growing Shabbos and Yom Tov services. Then came a momentous occasion. Brothers Victor Chaim and Isaac Kamhin gifted Chabad of Dumbo its very own Torah. Hundreds marched with it through Dumbo’s cobblestone streets. This was a historic event. Many children from the Dumbo Gan preschool participated. This was the first Torah dedication for many of them. It was a truly special Mitzvah. Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky a vice-chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch attended. He described Dumbo as a hub of youth innovation and growth. He praised the Kamhin family’s generosity. He blessed the community for continued growth. Isaac Kamhin expressed gratitude to Rabbi Kotlarsky. He saw him as a foundational figure in Jewish development in Asia. He wished Dumbo the same strength and growth he witnessed in Hong Kong. The Dumbo Gan preschool started in 2010. It has four classes and growing enrollment. The Chabad of Dumbo continues to serve its community. It offers religious services. It provides a strong sense of community for many. It’s a testament to the enduring spirit of Judaism in a vibrant modern setting. So this is Chabad of Dumbo. A place of faith community and growth in the heart of Dumbo.
