Centrul Tinerimea Română stands as a beacon for Romanian youth. It nurtures talent and promotes cultural values. It all began in 1878 when students from Liceului Matei Basarab founded Societatea Tinerimea Română. Aurel țeicaru and Dumitru Soreanu were among the founders. Their vision was to cultivate patriotism culture and Christian values in young Romanians.
The society aimed to discover and promote talented youth. These talents spanned music dance poetry history and art. They held contests and awarded prizes and medals to deserving students. Grigore Tocilescu emphasized that national sentiment could be awakened and preserved through school.
In 1912 the Municipality of Bucharest offered the Society a plot of land. It was 547 square meters in size. This was for them to construct their own headquarters. The foundation stone was laid on May 25 1924. The building at Str Schitu Măgureanu no 4 became Palatul Societății Tinerimea Române.
Today Centrul Național de Artă Tinerimea Română continues this legacy. It was established in 1992. It contributes to Romanian culture by promoting and preserving authentic values. These values are promoted both nationally and internationally.
