The Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda is part of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The college is a fashion education leader. It supports Madrid as a fashion capital. The college celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2016. The celebration included a fashion show. It took place on Conde Duque street. Ana Locking directed the show. She is a designer and professor at the Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda. Students presented over 50 original pieces. They designed and made the pieces themselves.

In 2014, it began offering an official university degree in Fashion Design. It is also the only center in Spain. It is the only one in Europe to offer a doctorate program in fashion. Over 1,000 designers have graduated from here. Amaya Arzuaga and Nacho Aguayo are alumni. Clara Bilbao is also an alumni. She has won two Goya Awards for Best Costume Design. The BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute of Economic Research ranked CSDMM first. It was named the best university center in Spain for design. The Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda partners with H&M. Together, they run the CSDMM&H&M Circular Program. This project promotes sustainable fashion. Students learn to transform garments.
