Rakhi Sarkar is the Founder of CIMA Gallery. She wanted the space to have a non-commercial aspect. Pace Gallery helped them integrate international practices. That’s how CIMA was started.

CIMA’s Art & Heritage Foundation supports art and heritage projects. This foundation initiated the CIMA AWARD Project. It recognizes young artists from across India. The CIMA AWARD is triennially awarded. It discovers genuine talent. It gives artists from smaller towns a platform.
