Doesn’t the name Centre Évangélique de Laval just roll off the tongue? It has a certain ring. This is more than just a church. It is a place where faith and community intertwine.

Centre Évangélique de Laval started humbly. The first church service was held between 1947 and 1948. It was then called Église de Pentecôte de Labord-à-Plouffe. The meetings took place on 76th Avenue in Chomedey.

The church experienced growth in 1978. The premises on 76th Avenue became too small. A new building at 350 des Laurentides in Pont-Viau was purchased. It was formerly a pharmacy. The church incorporated in 1978. It was at this time that the name changed to Centre Évangélique de Laval.

Another growth period occurred between 1978 and 1988. A vision for a new building began. Land was acquired at 1645 des Laurentides. Construction started in 1988. The first services were held in the spring of 1989.

The Centre Évangélique de Laval building can seat 500 people. It has a large basement for children’s activities and church suppers.

Laval Christian Fellowship also has a close connection to Centre Évangélique de Laval. In January 1995 Centre Évangélique de Laval graciously allowed Laval Christian Fellowship to use their facility free of charge for 6 months.

Today Centre Évangélique de Laval continues to thrive. It offers various ministries. These ministries include Alpha Couple Compassion Laval and Women of Impact. Also offered are Generation Maximum children’s resources and connection groups. The youth group is called Le Réveil. Centre Évangélique de Laval also provides pastoral care a Spanish speaking group and a worship ministry. Men’s and women’s ministries are available.

Centre Évangélique de Laval is more than just a building. It’s a community hub. It is a place of worship and a testament to the enduring power of faith. It proclaims love. It forms and shapes its members. Centre Évangélique de Laval is a beacon of hope in Laval.
