Celebration Lutheran Church isn’t just a building. It’s a place where people from all walks of life gather. It welcomes everyone regardless of age skin color financial status or who they love. This inclusive spirit is reflected in its mission of Eucharistic hospitality. If you’ve been baptized you are invited to partake in communion. The church believes in the Triune God the Bible as God’s word salvation through faith and the responsibility of Christians to love all people.
The journey to find a permanent home was long and winding. The congregation explored almost 100 potential sites over four years. Finally on August 28 2016 they voted to purchase the former home of Divine Savior Parish. This decision reflects their commitment to serving the Westland Canton and Plymouth communities. They are the only established ELCA congregation in a wide radius. This makes Celebration Lutheran Church a vital hub for Lutheran worship in western Detroit.
