They added a second floor to the farmhouse and carved a message above the entrance: “…to rediscover the peace of mind compromised by the sadness of the times of the city.” Seeking further solace, they built a small chapel dedicated to SS. Maria delle Grazie in 1865. Today, the chapel remains a testament to their devotion, even as it stands deconsecrated.
