Whispers of history echo from Casa 1373’s walls. This isn’t just a building it’s a portal to Casablanca’s past. Casa 1373 stands proudly a testament to the city’s evolution.

Originally known as Anfa Casablanca’s story began centuries ago. Berbers settled here in the seventh century BC. Phoenicians and Romans followed using the natural harbor. By the 14th century Anfa thrived as a vital port under the Merinids. The Portuguese however shattered its prosperity in 1468. They razed Anfa to the ground.

The city lay in ruins. Then in the 18th century Sultan Mohammed ben Abdallah rebuilt it. He named the resurrected city ad-Dar al-Bayda The White House. This name evolved into Casa Branca in Portuguese then Casablanca in Spanish and French finally becoming the name we know today.

The French protectorate transformed Casa 1373’s surroundings. Casablanca became a major port. Its strategic location propelled its importance in trade and global affairs. World War II further etched its place in history. The Anfa Conference held here in 1943 decided on unconditional surrender.

Casa 1373 itself reflects this layered history. Imagine the stories its stones could tell. The echoes of bustling markets the whispers of colonial rule the hushed conversations of wartime strategists. All are part of Casablanca’s legacy.
