Can you hear the roar of the crowd? We’re standing right here in front of the Carl-Benz-Stadion, a place where emotions run high and the beautiful game comes alive. This stadium, opened in 1994, has witnessed countless victories and heartbreaks. The Carl-Benz-Stadion is home to SV Waldhof Mannheim, a team with a rich history and a loyal fan base. But what makes the Carl-Benz-Stadion truly special is that it once hosted a team from a much smaller town, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, during their debut season in the Bundesliga. Imagine that, a top-tier team playing their home games in a stadium owned by a different city! This unusual situation lasted for half a season until Hoffenheim’s own stadium was completed. The architect, Folker Fiebiger, designed a venue that’s both modern and intimate, a cauldron of passionate support that echoes with the spirit of football. Even if you’re not a die-hard fan, the energy here is infectious.
