Rogoredo was booming with industry. Its population swelled. A new parish was needed. A new church. Don Luigi Martinenghi the prevosto of San Donato Milanese took the initiative. He commissioned the architects Oreste Benedetti and Antonio Casati. They designed this beautiful church. The cornerstone was laid on November 12 1905. The design mirrored their earlier work. It was the church of San Pietro in Sala.
The Cappella della Sacra Famiglia opened partially in 1907. It was completed in 1911. The campanile its bell tower wasn’t added until 1921. Notice the eclectic style. The brick facade is tripartite. It’s topped with four graceful pinnacless. The main portal is grand. A trefoil window sits above it. It’s enclosed in a lovely round arch.
