The air is different here, don’t you think? Older somehow. We’re standing in Cabeça Santa, a village that holds centuries of history. The name itself, Cabeça Santa, meaning “Holy Head”, hints at a fascinating past. You see, Cabeça Santa wasn’t always known by this name. It was once a place called Gândara. What happened to change that? Legend says that a sacred relic, a child’s skull adorned with silver, was discovered here. This “Holy Head” became a revered object, eventually lending its name to the entire village. Imagine the reverence, the pilgrimages that this relic must have inspired. Now, for a twist in our tale. In the summer of 1981, the unthinkable happened. Someone entered the village church and stole the relic. Gone is the physical Cabeça Santa, leaving behind a mystery and a name that whispers of a vanished past.
