“Channel 4, the first TV station in Thailand and Southeast Asia, began right here in Bangkok.” You find yourselves standing before the unassuming Building Television Studio. Don’t let its plain exterior fool you. This place marks a pivotal point in Thailand’s journey into the world of broadcasting. Step back in time with me to June 24th, 1955. It was a time of radio, a time when news traveled slowly, and entertainment meant gathering around a shared radio set. But on that day, everything changed. Channel 4 flickered to life, broadcasting from Bangkhunprom. Imagine the excitement, the anticipation as those first images graced the screens of a select few who owned this new technology. It was a landmark event, a leap into the modern age of communication. The Building Television Studio, although not the original broadcasting site, stands as a monument to this legacy. It’s a silent testament to how far television broadcasting has come, a journey from those grainy black and white images to the vibrant world of digital content we know today.
