“It’s about God.” These words encapsulate the very essence of the Bostonia Church of Christ. This church has stood at the corner of Crosby Street and Sumner Ave since 1954. It is more than just a building. It is a testament to faith and community.
The Bostonia Church of Christ exists to glorify God. This is achieved through worship, relationships and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. The church extends its message across the street and across the world.
They are committed to the Bible. They let it guide their faith and practices. The world has changed since the first century. Yet, the word of God remains relevant. It helps determine God’s will. It helps to establish and grow faith.
Sunday mornings offer Bible classes for all ages. Sunday worship services fill the air with prayer and song. In the evenings, there is more worship. Wednesday evenings bring more classes and devotion. They meet to strengthen their bonds. They meet to reinforce their beliefs.
The Bostonia Church of Christ also provides a Ladies’ Bible Class. It meets on Tuesday mornings. The church caters to all its members. Sign language interpreters are there during worship. Assistive listening devices aid the hearing impaired.
Youth rallies occur in February. Vacation Bible School enlivens June. Bible Camp strengthens faith in July. Throughout the year various activities foster spiritual growth. These activities promote fellowship and unity for all ages.
In 1998, the church sought a Major Use Permit Modification. This was for an expansion of the existing church facility. The expansion occurred in four phases. David Strickland from San Diego County was the contact.
