Sister Stephana Marback, a name whispered with reverence by generations of students, first stepped onto Blessed Sacrament Catholic School grounds in the summer of 1971. Her arrival, alongside two fellow Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, marked a pivotal moment in the school’s history. Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Convent, a place steeped in Catholic tradition and a symbol of the order’s enduring presence in the community, stands as a testament to their dedication. The Franciscan Missionary Sisters, the school’s previous stewards, had nurtured its growth since its opening in 1958. But with dwindling numbers, their time at Blessed Sacrament was drawing to a close. The arrival of Sister Stephana and her companions ushered in a new era, one marked by the charism of the Incarnate Word and a commitment to extending God’s kingdom through education. The transition was not without its challenges, enrollment stood at a modest 225 students. However, under Sister Stephana’s leadership, the school flourished. The Sisters embraced change, ushering in a full-day kindergarten program, an enriched middle school curriculum, and a state-of-the-art computer lab. A gymnasium rose, classrooms were modernized, and a dedicated lay staff joined their ranks. Today, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Convent stands not only as a place of worship but as a symbol of resilience, adaptation, and unwavering faith, echoing with the legacy of the Sisters who have called it home.
