A small group of believers led by Brother Alexie Vamvu began their worship. They hearkened back to the early church a simple style of devotion and service.
This wasn’t always easy. The communist regime of Romania placed restrictions on religious freedom. Yet the Biserica penticostală Vestea Bună persevered. Pastors like Oprea Ioan and Dumitru Matache guided the congregation. Their faith endured throughout years of oppression. They kept the flame of their belief alive.
The church initially met on Strada Popa Nan number 106. This location marked a blessed period of growth. The word of God spread throughout Bucharest.
Then came 1990. The fall of communism ushered in an era of religious freedom. Pastor Cristian Vasile Roske oversaw the construction of a new building. It was built on the same site as the old one.
In 2000 the new building opened. The church officially adopted the name Biserica penticostală Vestea Bună Good News Church. This name encompassed its entire history. It reflected its journey from a humble beginning to a thriving community.
The expanded facility allowed the church to offer a wider range of services. It supported children’s youth and adult ministries. Pastors Emil Meștereagă and Ciprian Flavius Terinte joined the pastoral team strengthening the church’s work.
