Born Constantin Antonescu in Bucharest in 1787, he embarked on his spiritual journey at Cernica Monastery at the tender age of 20. Biserica Ortodoxă Sfântul Calinic echoes with the spirit of this devout man. However, Cernica Monastery remained close to his heart. He returned in 1867, spending his final year as a humble monk before passing away on April 11, 1868.
