Later accounts credit Cristea the wealthy man and Manul Cavaful as founders. Another record names the guild of the rope-makers as the church’s patrons. The church underwent significant renovations in 1887. The brick iconostasis was replaced with a wooden one. The interior was painted with oil paints. However the spirit of faith persevered. In 2004 Father Daniel Rosu embarked on a mission to rebuild the Biserica Ortodoxă Sfânta Treime Dudeşti. He chose a new location on Bulevardul Burebista. This new building stands as a symbol of hope and remembrance. While it differs architecturally from its predecessor it carries the same spiritual essence. The work is ongoing. The interior is still being painted a continuing testament to the enduring power of faith.
