It’s easy to stay in the Billeting facilities and it’s truly a beautiful area. The prices are very affordable. Being right “on the base” really adds to the ambiance of graduation.
Billeting, now Marine Lodge, provides a range of services. They offer transient lodging similar to a quality hotel. This includes lodging for active-duty military and DoD civilians on temporary duty orders. Also, active-duty military and their families on PCS orders can stay here. Guests of the Commanding General are also welcome. Active and retired military can stay on a space-available basis. Immediate family members of graduating recruits are also authorized.
Inside, the rooms are well-equipped. Each room has a private vanity. You’ll also find an ironing board and a coffee pot with coffee and filters. Some rooms are joining and share a bathroom. However, these rooms are given to one family. Families never have to share a bathroom with another family unless they choose to.
Making reservations is simple. You can call 619-524-4401 or visit the MCRD San Diego Billeting Website. Reservations can be made 45 days before your arrival. Remember to have the last four digits of your recruit’s social security number ready. MCRDSD Billeting is located in Bldg 625. It’s adjacent to Gate 4 and behind the Base Exchange.
