On the second floor you’ll find an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse education center. This focuses on preventive care and interdisciplinary teamwork. Over 1000 APRNs have graduated from USD since 1984. Many hold Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees.
The third floor is dedicated to research. It houses four distinct units. These focus on veterans’ care maternal and child health palliative care and aging. Specific research centers include the Hervey Family San Diego Foundation Military and Veteran Health Unit. There’s also a Women and Children’s Health Unit and a unit focused on hospice and palliative care. A Senior Adult Research Unit with a Functional Assessment Apartment provides a unique research environment. The impressive Krause Family PhD Research Library and Study is also located here.
