Nestled in the heart of the Bronx, the Beulah Seventh Day Adventist Church has a story as vibrant as the city itself. The Beulah Seventh Day Adventist Church’s journey began not in a grand edifice, but in the humble setting of 1624 East 172nd Street in 1972. Under the leadership of Reuben Johnson and Mothers Atkins and Reid, along with a dedicated group, this small congregation, initially comprised of just three families, embarked on a mission to build God’s kingdom. Mother Atkins had a vision for the church’s name, and it was she who chose “Beulah.” As the church’s membership grew, so too did its need for space. The Beulah Seventh Day Adventist Church moved from its initial location to the home of Deacon and Sister Charlton on East 215th Street. From there, they relocated again, this time to a larger space at 3450 Eastchester Road. The Beulah Seventh Day Adventist Church continued to flourish, eventually growing to over 200 members. Today, the Beulah Seventh Day Adventist Church stands proudly at its current location: 986 East Gunhill Road, at the corner of Paulding Avenue. This beautiful edifice marks the culmination of years of dedication and growth, a testament to the enduring spirit of the Beulah Seventh Day Adventist Church community.
