This impressive facility opened in February 2001. It was a response to the overwhelming demand for practice space. Berklee students needed more places to hone their skills. The Fordham Road facility provided the solution. Over 12000 square feet of rehearsal space was created. This included 55 individual practice rooms. Ten of these were specifically designed for ensemble rehearsals. Imagine the energy. The collaborative spirit.
But there’s more to the story than just rooms. The facility was meticulously designed. Acoustic Systems carefully engineered each space. Their goal was superb sound within each room. They also aimed to minimize sound bleed between rooms. This meant that a drummer could practice ferociously. A pianist could delicately coax melodies from the keys.
