Founded in 1937 Berea Church of God in Christ has a rich history. It began with humble prayer services at Eliza Richardson’s home in Berea. The congregation later moved to Oak Street. There it became affiliated with the Church of God in Cleveland Tennessee. In 1968 a modern sanctuary was erected on US 25 North. Sadly this building was destroyed by fire in 2004. Undeterred the church members met in two locations for three months. They then leased a facility on Wallaceton Road for three years. Construction on the current building began in 2007. The Berea Church of God in Christ moved into its present facility on Rash Road on February 24 2008. Dedication services were held on April 6 2008. This building stands as a testament to the resilience and faith of the Berea Church of God in Christ congregation. It’s a powerful reminder of the church’s enduring spirit.
