Established in 1935, Berachah Church has a unique history. It began as a nondenominational church, founded by C. W. Colgan. The name “Berachah” itself means “blessing” in Hebrew, a fitting name for a place meant to offer spiritual guidance. Berachah Church’s mission is clear: to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They aim to teach believers God’s plan for their lives through detailed Bible study. This involves interpreting the scriptures literally, a method known as exegetical and expository communication. For decades, the church thrived under the leadership of Robert B. Thieme Jr. He served as pastor for an impressive 53 years, from 1950 to 2003. During his tenure, he built a global ministry, sharing his teachings far beyond Houston. His son, Robert B. Thieme III, followed in his footsteps, becoming pastor in 2004. Before entering the ministry, the younger Thieme had a distinguished military career. He served as an infantry officer, Airborne Ranger, and intelligence officer, reaching the rank of major. He then pursued theological studies, graduating with honors from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary. Now, he leads Berachah Church, continuing the legacy of his father. The church also houses a rich archive of teachings. Both Thiemes’ sermons are available in various formats. Anyone interested can obtain a catalog or specific lessons via mail or phone.
