The Duffys owned the Belmont Hosiery Hill. The construction cost was 25000 dollars. Mr. Duffy also presented 5000 volumes to the library. He established a fund for the library’s maintenance.
The Belmont Public Library was dedicated in 1928. It was a red brick building with granite trimmings. The library quickly became a vital part of Belmont.
Fast forward to today. The Belmont Public Library still stands proudly. It has seen many changes. One notable change occurred in 1985.
