What is the sound of coexistence? Here at Beit HaGefen, the sound isn’t one single note, but a rich symphony of cultures. Beit HaGefen, meaning “House of the Vine” in Hebrew, is more than just a building. It’s a symbol of hope and dialogue in a city known for its diverse population. Founded in 1963 by Haifa’s mayor, Abba Hushi, Beit HaGefen was designed to be a bridge between the Arab and Jewish communities. Over the years, it has grown into a vibrant cultural center. It hosts art exhibitions, theatrical performances, and even interfaith conferences. This haven of shared heritage is perhaps best known for its annual “Holiday of Holidays” celebration. This vibrant festival, held in December, joyously combines Hanukkah, Ramadan, and Christmas. Imagine strolling through the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood, transformed into a massive open-air gallery. 100 artworks by Arab and Jewish artists fill the space, their creativity echoing the spirit of unity that Beit HaGefen embodies.
