Beijing University of Chinese Medicine West Campus

Established in 1956, the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine West Campus, originally known as Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, stands as a testament to China’s rich medical heritage. This institution, right here before us, was the first Chinese medicine college approved by the State Council. In 1960, it earned the distinction of being named a national key university. Later, in 1993, it was formally renamed Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The university we see today is the result of a merger in 2000 with the Beijing Academy of Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Orthopedics. The Beijing University of Chinese Medicine boasts three campuses: Heping Street Campus, Wangjing Campus, and the West Campus, also known as Liangxiang Campus. This university is a hub of learning, with over 12,602 students immersed in the study of Chinese medicine, pharmacy, acupuncture, and other related disciplines. Beijing University of Chinese Medicine has a rich history of international collaboration. It has trained over 20,000 Chinese medicine professionals from 94 countries and regions.
